| | Last night had to be the best night of the year.
It was the Street rod car show in Harrington, and its not just a car show. Its almost like a fair of rides...litterally. Cars everywhere of anything you can think of that isnt a fucking dumbass import, vendors selling funnel cakes, cotton candy, drinks, beer, with the occasional t-shirt, model cars, and a few odds and ends here and there being sold. Then they have the controled burn-outs(which I missed), neon parade, and flame throwers.
The best.
I got pictures of the neon parade and the first half of the flame throwers. Unfortuently, I ran out of film right when they have the 40ft flame thrower come up. Man, I tell you you could have roasted a damn marshmellow with that fucker from a mile away. The heat from that was intense! I had to practically shut my eyes cause it was so bright! Met a few people there too that were cool. One from Fedralsburg who knows Shawne and agrees with everyone else, hes an ass. And another person who knows my dad. My dads knee was bothering him bad so he was sitting on the bleachers practically missing the whole thing, except for the 40ft flames. Thankfully though the guy he works with was there so he had someone to talk to.
Everyone I shook hands with was a Ford person. I find that awesomely funny! I met 3 other people who have 93 stangs like me, though mines not comparable to their winners. But Im not the only one who wants to keep it strickly "no go show boat."
Which reminds me, me and my dad had a fun time just drivin there cause I burn a cd of nothing but car songs and oldies. So we set the mood right with that. Course our fav parts of the songs were the WA WAAA WA WA WA WAWAAAA's and the OOOOWEEEOOOOWOOOOWOOO's. So we got a kick out of that. Singing, "she's real fine my 409" and "little GTO your really lookin fine 3 barrels and a 4 speed witha 389."
Pure Craziness, but of course, we couldnt end the night without staying at the moose lodge until 1 in the morning. My aunt was drunk as hell. That was a site right there in itself. Sung some oldies then came home in the rain and went to bed. Yesterday felt like 2 days in one. I couldnt remember half of it cause of how excited I was about the car show.
The ones that put that car show on are from Delaware and do car shows all over throughout the summer, but I think Harringtons the only one you see so much action in. Unfortuently I was gonna go today and didnt cause its been raining practically non stop, and its not the drizzle kinda rain either. Not to mention I thought it ended at 4 and it ended at 2. So, I guess Ill just wait till next year to get pictures and actually be able to walk around. |
